WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange residents who are homebound in the pandemic may be eligible to have a COVID-19 vaccine brought to them, via a partnership between the township and the Montclair State University School of Nursing.

West Orange town officials gave some details about the program on Wednesday. They wrote:

“If you are a homebound resident (either bedbound or have difficulty leaving your home), you may be eligible to have the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine administered to you at your residence. The Township of West Orange has partnered with registered nurses from Montclair State University School of Nursing to visit homebound residents at their homes and administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single-dose vaccine.”

To register for the West Orange home vaccination list, people can contact the West Orange Health Department at 973-325-4120, or the Department of Senior Services at 973-325-4105.

“If eligible, you will be contacted by a registered nurse from Montclair State University School of Nursing to register and schedule an appointment to come to your home and vaccinate you,” officials said.

The vaccines are limited only to the homebound resident initiative. Appointments will be made based on vaccine supply availability, officials said.
