The free "LGBT Senior Housing and Care Expo" on June 9 will discuss the future of New Jersey's LGBT senior citizen population.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — There are currently 2.4 million lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people in the United States 65 years and older. By 2030, that number is expected to grow by 50%, according to some experts.
The future of New Jersey’s LGBT senior citizen population will be the topic of the free, public “LGBT Senior Housing and Care Expo” on Saturday, June 9 at the Green Hill retirement community, 103 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange.
During the expo, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., representatives of Green Hill Inc. will partner with nonprofit advocacy group Garden State Equality to discuss how to create long-term care housing and services for LGBT seniors of all economic levels, race, religions and cultures.
