PSE&G Crews Remain At Scene Of Westwood Transformer Explosion
Stores evacuated along Broadway Saturday afternoon
Businesses in downtown Westwood were evacuated late Saturday afternoon after an underground tranformer explosion near Broadway.
PSE&G was still on the scene shortly before 9 p.m., and parts of Broadway remained closed.
One customer described lights flickering in a store around 4:30, then feeling a thud under her feet. The lights cut out with the thud, and police soon started ordering people out of the stores and setting up a large perimeter.
