Election Day In Westwood-Hillsdale: When, Where To Vote.

WESTWOOD-HILLSDALE, NJ — With the General Election being conducted primarily by mail, and polling places reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are still several options to make sure your vote is counted.

In Westwood and Hillsdale that includes voting at a polling location, using a secure drop box, mailing your ballot back or hand delivering it to your local board of elections.

Who and What Am I Voting For?

• President: Representing the nation’s two major parties are sitting Republican President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris are challenging. Also on the ballot are: Don Blankenship/William Mohr (Constitution Party); Howie Hawkins/Angela Nicole Walker (Green); Jo Jorgensen/Spike Cohen (Libertarian); Gloria La Riva/Sunil Freeman (Party for Socialism and Liberation); Roque De La Fuente/Darcy Richardson (The Alliance Party) and Bill Hammons/Eric Bodenstab (Unity Party).
• U.S. Congress: One US Senate seat will be contested: Incumbent Democrat Cory Booker will face Republican Rik Mehta. All 12 of the state's congressional seats will be decided. In Westwood and Hillsdale, residents will cast votes for either incumbent Congressman Josh Gottheimer or Republican challenger Frank Pallotta. New Jersey's delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives is split between 10 Democrats and two Republicans heading into Election Day.
• Marijuana legalization and other ballot questions: Voters will decide whether to legalize the possession and use of marijuana. Voters will also decide whether to makes peacetime veterans eligible to receive the veterans' property tax deduction. (For more on marijuana legalization, click here.)
• Local races in Westwood: In Westwood, voters will select two full-term members of the town council and unexpired council seat. The candidates for the roles are Republicans Christopher Montana and Louise A. Cue for the full-term seats, and Cheryl L. Hodges for the unexpired term. Democratic candidates are Erin Collins and Bermari Roig for the full-term, and Lee-Ann Schaadt for the unexpired term. Four candidates are running for Westwood Regional Board of Education seats. They are Jason R. Garcia, Gale Herzing, Andrea Peck and Michael R. Pontillo.
• Local races in Hillsdale: Council seats are also available in Hillsdale, where voters will decide between Democrats Christopher Camp and Steven Segalas or Republicans Zoltan Horvath and Anthony DeRosa for two council positions. Three candidates, Christina Jennigs, Nicole Klas and Claudina Morrison, are vying for a full-term Board of Education seat, and Justin Saxon is running for an unexpired seat. There are also two seats available on the Pascack Regional Board of Education. Four candidates are running. They are Pat Luisi, Kristin Martin, Arnold Scher and Gini Varghese.
