Hillsdale 2021 Elections: 2 Council Seats Open, But Uncontested

Republicans Abby Lundy and John Escobar will run for two council seats. No democratic candidate filed a petition.

HILLSDALE, NJ — Two incumbent Republicans are running for open council seats in Hillsdale, but will face no Democratic challengers.

Current Council President Abby Lundy and current councilman John Escobar are seeking re-election in the race for two open seats. Municipal Clerk Denise Kohan said no Democratic candidates filed petitions.

This past Monday was the deadline for candidates to submit their names to run.

However, the deadline for independent candidates (not running under any official party) who wish to run is June 8, 2021.
