Hillsdale Homes Evacuated, None Damaged After Gas Fire: Report

A construction vehicle caught fire after workers hit a gas line in Hillsdale on Tuesday. No one was injured, according to Northjersey.com.

HILLSDALE, NJ — A gas fire forced evacuations of four Hillsdale homes, and caused damage to a construction vehicle after it burst into flames Tuesday morning, Northjersey.com reports.

Hillsdale fire officials did not immediately return a request for comment.

Workers tasked with replacing a gas line in the area near Kinderkamack Road and Dwight Avenue struck one of them around 8 a.m., which caused the vehicle fire, the report said.

Four homes were evacuated, but none sustained any damage, and no one was injured. Gas was shut off in the area while roughly 30 firefighters put out the fire, Northjersey.com reports.
