232 Apartments May Be Coming Next To Woodbridge Train Station

A developer wants to build this 232-unit apartment complex at the Woodbridge train station, on the old Lucas Chevrolet property.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A developer called Prism Capital Partners has submitted an application to the Woodbridge Planning Board to build a 232-unit apartment complex at the corner of Rahway Avenue and Green Street.

This is the former Lucas Chevrolet dealership property in downtown Woodbridge proper, right next to the New Jersey Transit Woodbridge train station.

Several years ago, Woodbridge Township identified this five-acre parcel of land as an area targeted for redevelopment. Prism says that, if approved, it plans to convert it to a mixed-use transit oriented community consisting of 232 apartments and 12,000 square feet of retail space. Renderings of how it will look have been provided by the developer, above.

“We are eagerly anticipating the commencement of construction,” said Eugene Diaz, a principal partner at Prism. “The appetite for multifamily rental – especially transit-oriented product – continues to exceed supply throughout New Jersey and nationwide.”

The Woodbridge Planning Board has not yet approved the application.

“The town of Woodbridge is experiencing a renaissance, and this property sits in the heart of its walkable downtown, right next to Woodbridge station,” Diaz continued. “It is a perfect spot for luxury, fully-amenitized apartment homes.”

There is no date scheduled for when they will go before the Woodbridge Planning Board.
