WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Any Woodbridge resident, 18 and older that wants a coronavirus vaccine can get one starting next week.

You just still have to make an appointment first; no walk-ins. Only those 18 and older can receive a coronavirus vaccine so far in America. Only about one third of all Americans are fully vaccinated so far.

"Next week we are getting our largest allocation of doses yet, so any Woodbridge resident needing a vaccine can come on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at our Township Health Department," announced Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac.

Also, as more and more people get vaccinated, the number of new cases in Woodbridge finally is dropping:

Woodbridge's seven-day rolling average dropped below 25 for the first time since November 6 and the three-day rolling average dropped below 20 for the first time since October 25, said McCormac.

This comes after February and March saw the highest coronavirus case counts in Woodbridge in the entire pandemic, even higher than in March and April of 2020.

"We had only 74 in the last four days with 12 on Monday, 24 on Tuesday, 23 on Wednesday and 15 on Thursday," said McCormac.

Consider that just over a month ago, on March 26, Woodbridge had 77 cases in one day.

And it's now 74 cases in four days.

Two Woodbridge Twp men died in the past week of coronavirus complications, and they are both on the younger side, 54 and 46, said the mayor.
