Cow Escaped From Slaughterhouse Ran Loose In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A cow was spotted running lose on the Woodbridge/Carteret border Tuesday night, said a Woodbridge town spokesman. Police think the animal escaped from a slaughterhouse in Carteret.

Carteret Abattoir is a slaughterhouse located in that area.

Woodbridge police received a report of a cow running lose at approximately 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, said town spokesman John Hagerty.

Woodbridge Police responded, as did Woodbridge Animal Control. They located the cow and escorted it back to the Carteret slaughterhouse, he said.
