Fords Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash

A 49-year-old man from the Fords section of Woodbridge died this weekend in a New York motorcycle crash, authorities said.

Steven Perez, was killed in the crash on I-95 in Rye, New York on Sunday, according to New York State Police.

Around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, he was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the highway, police said.

Witnesses told police Perez grabbed his chest, veered into the center median and was ejected from the bike.

Two other people traveling on two motorcycles behind Perez tried to avoid his accident lost control of their bikes and were involved in separate crashes.

Both of those drivers were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Perez died from his injuries at Greenwich Hospital, New York State Police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
