Both NJ.com and mycentraljersey.com reported that the couple was divorced. They were living in the same home when the 32-year-old woman was killed, authorities said.
Quoting sources, both newspapers have reported that Vito Nigro then attempted suicide by jumping into traffic on the Garden State Parkway.
Authorities have only said that Vito Nigro was at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, with bail set at $750,000.
The couple’s three young children, 4- and 6-year-old girls, and a 9-year-old boy, are now with their maternal grandmother, according to NJ.com.
Woodbridge Detective Andrew Kondracki and Detective Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Kondracki at (732) 634-7700, or Marchak at (732) 745-3254.
