Lidl Grocery Store Coming To Woodbridge In 2021

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Heads up, Woodbridge: A Lidl grocery store is coming to the area, due to open on St. Georges Avenue sometime before the end of 2021.

The Lidl will be opening in the former A&P on St. Georges. Another Lidl will also open next year on South Avenue in Garwood.

Lidl is a German grocery store company similar to counterpart Aldi, another discount grocer.

In New Jersey, you've probably noticed several Lidls and Aldis moving into former A&P and Pathmark sites.

The Woodbridge location is part of Lidl's massive $500 million U.S. expansion: Lidl is opening a total of 10 new stores in New Jersey by the end of 2021, doubling Lidl's network in the state. Lidl plans to open 50 new stores along the East Coast by the end of next year.

Customers must provide their own bags at Lidl. There are no plastic or paper bags to take food items home in. Lidl is unique in that it offers health insurance for all employees, even part time.

Here are the 10 new Lidl grocers that will open in New Jersey by the end of 2021:

• Egg Harbor Township - Fire Road
• Garwood - South Ave
• Glassboro - Delsea Drive
• Gloucester Township - Blackwood
• Lawrenceville - South Black Horse Pike
• Park Ridge - Kinderkamack Rd
• Weehawken - Park Ave
• Woodbridge - St. Georges Ave
