WOODBRIDGE, NJ —Chadly Julien has been identified as the 21-year-old man who died in a house fire in the Avenel section of Woodbridge last Wednesday.

The fire broke out in a single-family home on the 80 block of South Inman Avenue. The Avenel Fire Department first got the call of the fire at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, said Avenel Fire Official Cory Spillar.

Initial reports said the family was trapped in the home, but the family was actually all able to exit via a back door before firefighters got there, said Spillar. Everyone made it out with the exception of the 21-year-old, who lived in the home.

The fire was put out and the young man was found in the basement, where he was pronounced deceased. The young man's bedroom was in the basement.

The fire started in that basement bedroom, said Spillar, and several different ignition sources are being investigated. From there the fire spread upstairs to the kitchen on the first floor.
