MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Starting this Thursday, May 13, Middlesex County will welcome walk-in vaccine shots at select clinics with no appointment needed.

However, the county said it was not ready to reveal which clinic sites this would be.

"That is still to be determined. That information will be posted on our website once it is decided," said a Middlesex County spokeswoman.

CVS, Walmart and Sam's Club have been offering walk-in coronavirus vaccines for at least the past week.

Starting Monday, May 10 Middlesex County will no longer accept appointments booked through NJVSS (covidvaccine.nj.gov). The County has launched its own dedicated scheduling portal for Middlesex County locations.

The portal residents must use is: www.middlesexcountynj.gov/vaccine to book their appointments and for more details.

Clinics will start offering evening and weekend hours, creating pop-up vaccine clinics, and vaccinating hard-to-reach, vulnerable populations including homebound populations.

“We encourage all residents who have registered for a vaccine and have not yet been able to reserve their first appointment, to visit the County’s new vaccine scheduling portal to book a vaccine appointment now or drop by starting May 13 for a walk-in appointment,” said Shanti Narra, County Commissioner and Chair of Public Safety & Health Committee. “Getting vaccinated is a major step forward in helping to end this health crisis– it not only protects our residents but their loved ones as well from serious COVID-19 disease.”
