NJ Closes Middlesex County Care Facility Where Woman Was Killed
Meadowview Care Center was forced to close following numerous incidents of improper operation, staffing and safety issues, officials said.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — A Middlesex County care facility was forced to shut down recently following numerous incidents of improper operation, staffing and safety issues. Last month, a woman was also killed at the facility, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
Meadowview Care Center, which is at 319 Spotswood Gravelhill Rd. in Monroe, closed June 9 by order of the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards. The closure was effective immediately, authorities said.
“The conditions at Meadowview Care Center posed a serious threat to the health and safety of both the facility residents and the residents of the Township of Monroe. We appealed to the Bureau who sought to have the center’s operating license revoked,” Mayor Stephen Dalina said in a statement. “I am relieved and happy to report that the facility is now closed.”

“I would particularly like to commend MTPD Sergeant Ronald Breuer for his ongoing diligence and commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all involved,” Mayor Dalina said.
On May 17 at around 12:36 a.m., police responded to the facility where they found a deceased woman in the common area.
The investigation revealed that Deymis Jimenez, 32, was seen on surveillance camera entering a television room around midnight and turning off the lights before beating the woman to death with a potted plant, NJ.com reported.
Jimenez was charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
DCA spokesperson Lisa Ryan told My Central NJ that there were 66 people living at Meadowview Care Center at the time of the closing. The state is currently working to relocate them to a permanent residence of their choosing.
