Obituary: Michael T. Governale, 83; Middletown H.S. Hall of Fame Member; Born in New Brunswick, Most Recently Lived in Manchester

Michael T. Governale passed away on August 13. He had worked as a mechanical maintenance supervisor for JCP&L for 45 years in Sayreville.

Michael T. Governale, 83, of Manchester, died on August 13, 2014 in Toms River; he was born in New Brunswick. Michael worked as a mechanical maintenance supervisor for JCP&L in Sayreville for 45 years, retiring in 1993. He was a past member of the Harborside Golf Club in Atlantic Highlands and the Middletown High School Hall of Fame and American Legion Post 211 in Sayreville. Michael was an avid golfer, Yankee and Giants fan and loved playing the horses and lottery.

Surviving are his two sons & daughters-in-laws, Michael Jr. and Lou Ann Governale and Daniel and Ursula Governale; grandsons, Gregory and his wife Kristi, Brian and Daniel Governale and great-grandson, Matthew Governale.

Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Governale; second wife, Dorothy Governale and brother, James Governale.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9:15 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
