Perth Amboy Man Dies From Injuries Suffered In Street Robbery, Authorities Say

The man accused of robbing him is now charged with felony murder, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

A Perth Amboy man has died from the injuries he suffered in a street robbery, and the man accused of punching him is now charged with felony murder, authorities said.

Pascual Luna-Grande, 37, of Perth Amboy, died Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, authorities said.

Lashawn Jones, 41, of the Bronx is now charged with felony murder and his bail has been raised to $750,000.

Jones has been in custody since Sept. 18, hours after he punched and robbed the victim on Madison Avenue in the city.

Jones attacked Luna-Grande around 2 a.m., and after the victim fell, Jones stole his cell phone and cash, then fled.

Around 4:40 a.m., a passerby found Luna-Grande unconscious on the sidewalk, and alerted police.

Jones was arrested several hours later and charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

The investigation is continuing.
