Rahway Police Chase Loose Chicken
If you happened to be driving down St. Georges around 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rahway, you might have literally seen a chicken cross the road.

RAHWAY, NJ — If you happened to be driving down St. Georges Avenue around 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rahway, you might have literally seen a chicken cross the road.
That's because a chicken got loose from a home on St. Georges (Rt. 27) and someone called 911 after seeing it running loose.
It was running loose at the intersection of St. Georges and Central Ave., which is a high-traffic area. A Rahway police officer admitted to Patch it was a miracle the chicken was not hit by a car.

The chicken was very tame and it was easy for the police to pick it up, he said. The officer who picked the bird up also has experience handling chickens, he said. A home in that area keeps several chickens in their yard, and one had gotten loose.
