Red Oak Manor Senior Housing Opens In Woodbridge
Woodbridge is looking out for its seniors: Red Oak Manor replaced the 55-year-old Stern Towers.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge Township takes care of its seniors! This week, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac announced the grand opening of Red Oak Manor, Woodbridge Township’s newest senior housing community located just steps away from the Sycamore Senior Center in the Sewaren section of the Township.
Sixty new residents already moved into Red Oak Manor this week and apparently they are loving it, Patch was told. The seniors used to live in the old Stern Towers.
“The grand opening of the incredibly well-appointed Red Oak residential community stands as an incredible day for the residents of the former Stern Towers as they left the oldest housing complex in town to the newest residential community in Woodbridge,” said Mayor McCormac. “Red Oak Manor represents yet another step in our efforts to replace older residential communities with new, modern facilities."

No taxpayer funds were used to construct Red Oak manor; the entire project was funded through a combination of equity from the federal HUD RAD program, transferred reserves from the Woodbridge Housing Authority and private investment.
"The demand for affordable housing for seniors is tremendous and we keep looking for locations where more can be built. With the Sycamore Senior Center right next door, and with our senior busing program up and running, the Red Oak complex will be an amazing place for our seniors to live," said Mayor McCormac.
