Services Thursday For Carteret Man Allegedly Killed By Son-In-Law
He was killed Friday at the Carteret Knights of Columbus hall, pictured. Details of what the two men were arguing about are unknown.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3 for the Carteret man allegedly shot and killed by his own son-in-law outside the Carteret Knights of Columbus hall this past Friday.
A viewing will be held for Roberto Laureano, 49, on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5-9 p.m. at Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Avenue in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Twp.
A following cremation will be private. Laureano lived in Carteret.

Authorities say Laureano was murdered by his own son-in-law Friday, Dec. 28 at the Carteret Knights of Columbus on High Street. When police got there, Laureano was lying in front of the Knights of Columbus, with multiple gunshot wounds. He died on the way to the hospital.
Police say his son-in-law, Doug Rodriguez, 32, killed him over a dispute. Details of what the two were arguing about have still not been released.

Rodriguez was briefly hiding out for about 24 hours after the murder, but turned himself in Saturday night to the authorities.
Laureano is survived by his wife, Maria Laureano; mother, Litza Dominguez; children, Jessica, Jaime, Ruth Maria and Jeiskaly Laureano; granddaughter, Jailiana Laureano; siblings, Jose Dominguez, Darlene Laureano, Henry Laureano, Litza Vazquez and Mildred Vazquez.
