Update: Woodbridge Stabbing Suspect Pointed Gun At Police Before He Was Fatally Shot, Authorities Say
The Woodbridge man, who authorities say was shot by police after he stabbed two people, has died from his injuries, authorities said.

Rodney Jencsik, 49, who lived in a trailer home park on Freddie Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, was shot outside his home around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

On Monday afternoon, Jencsik stabbed two people at a home on Englishtown Road in Old Bridge.
One of those victims, Dina Marie Heil, 46, of Parlin, was taken to Perth Amboy Regional Hospital, Old Bridge Division, where she was pronounced dead at 4:35 p.m.
The other stabbing victim, a 50-year-old man whose name is being withheld, is being treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for wounds he suffered in the attack. He is in stable condition.
Around 2:35 p.m. Monday, Old Bridge police were called to the home on Englishtown Road.
They then posted an alert for Jencsik, who was spotted in Woodbridge, behind the wheel of a Jaguar.
Woodbridge officers tried to pull him over, but Jencsik fled, slamming the vehicle into a fence and the side of an daycare center on Avenel Street before arriving at his home. Police followed him, and the standoff began around 4 p.m.
Members of the Woodbridge Police Department and eventually, members of the Woodbridge Police Department Special Operations Team surrounded the home and tried to convince him to surrender.
“When Jencsik eventually emerged in the doorway of the house, he was brandishing the handgun and was shot when he pointed the weapon at police,” the news release said.
Multiple weapons were later found in his home.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the shooting, and the state Office of the Attorney General has been notified in accordance with use of force guidelines.
