The Station Village Apartments Open At Avenel Train Station
The $50 million redevelopment project of 500 apartments sits on the abandoned 27-acre General Dynamics site, near the Avenel train stop.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Station Village at Avenel and the newly renovated New Jersey Transit commuter train station located in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township opened Tuesday to much fanfare.
“Today’s grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony represents the start of a new era for Avenel that has transformed the vacant General Dynamics site into a vibrant new community,” said Mayor John E. McCormac. “Station Village at Avenel and the future Avenel Arts Center will enhance all of Avenel and will serve to create a sense of place. More importantly, the project has already increased property values for every home and property owner in Avenel.”
Station Village at Avenel – along with the Avenel Arts Center complex, slated to begin construction in December – stand on the long-abandoned 27-acre General Dynamics industrial complex in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. Station Village at Avenel and the Avenel Arts Center, in conjunction with the NJT North Jersey Coastline commuter train station serving Avenel, represents a $50 million transit-related development project that will create 500 luxury apartments and town homes, 25,000 square feet of arts-themed retail space, and a 10,000 square-foot performing arts center with artist studios, galleries, rehearsal and performance space, and themed restaurants and hospitality facilities. The Station Village at Avenel sits at 2000 Station Drive.
