WOODBRIDGE, NJ — If you're a fan of the hit sci-fi Netflix show "Stranger Things," you would have recognized star Gaten Matarazzo when he popped into the Wawa in the Fords section of Woodbridge Friday night.

Woodbridge police said Matarazzo posed with these two officers inside the Wawa, and told the officers "thank you" for their service.

Matarazzo, 17, is a native of Little Egg Harbor. He is rapidly catching up to Bruce Springsteen status in terms of being spotted up and down the Jersey Shore: In addition to being an actor, he is also a musician and has performed several shows at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park. He's in a band called Work in Progress with his sister Sabrina Matarazzo. He also took his junior prom photos on the boardwalk in Ocean City, the Asbury Park Press reported.
