Taxi On Fire Shuts Down NJ Turnpike In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A yellow taxi cab that caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames shut down traffic northbound on the NJ Turnpike just before the Garden State Parkway Friday afternoon.
The call of the taxi on fire came in at 1:14 p.m., State Police told Patch. The taxi cab became fully engulfed but the driver was able to get out safely. This happened at mile marker 89.7 in Woodbridge Twp.
The NJT northbound was backed up from about 1:15 to 1:50 p.m. Friday, but traffic is moving now. The scene was all clear by 1:50 p.m. Friday.
