Woodbridge Gets $6 Million Arts Grant
Woodbridge has received a $6 million arts grant from Middlesex County for the development of the Avenel Arts Center at Station Village.

Woodbridge has received a $6 million arts grant from Middlesex County for the development of the Avenel Arts Center at Station Village.
The grant has been awarded by the Middlesex County Cultural & Arts Trust Fund, a township news release said.
The Avenel Arts Center at Station Village is a $50 million project that is expected to turn the former General Dynamics site into “a vibrant new community,” a news release said.

The project at the 27-acre former industrial site will include an arts village that will have “more than 50,000 square feet of arts-themed retail space and a performing arts center with artist studios, galleries and rehearsal and performance space,” the news release said.
Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac, Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios, Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Township Councilman Cory Spillar, Caroline Ehrlich of the Woodbridge Redevelopment Agency and community members were expected to attend a ceremony Saturday at the Fifth District Park in Avenel to celebrate receipt of the grant.
