Woodbridge Gets State Money To Repave Chain O'Hills Road
Woodbridge Twp. called this a "major project" and work won't actually start until 2022.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The state of New Jersey recently allocated a total of $161 million to more than 500 towns for road repairs and improvements, and Woodbridge was on that list.
Woodbridge received a total of $666,975 from the state Department of Transportation in grant money for the milling and paving of Chain O'Hills Road.
"This is a major road reconstruction project," said Woodbridge town spokesman John Hagerty.

The project will include full reconstruction for approximately 1.5 miles from Green Street to New Dover Road and will reconstruct curb and sidewalk where required; inlet cleaning, along with replacement of frame and grates for safer pedestrian and bicycle travel; replacement of broken or worn-out water valve boxes, manhole frame and covers, handicap ramps with warning surfaces and roadway striping. The new pavement, curb and sidewalk will increase public safety and provide pedestrians a safer travel surface.
Woodbridge says the improved drainage will provide a more efficient collection of storm water and prevent ponding or flood water on the road. Here is exactly what will be done on Chain O'Hills Road:
· Mill existing roadway surface
· Resurface Roadway
· Replace and reset manhole castings
· Replace inlet castings
· Install striping and markings including pedestrian crosswalks
· Install handicap ramps where necessary and repair where required
· Reconstruct curb and sidewalks where necessary
· Install ADA curb ramp delineation where necessary in the corridor
· Replace aging regulatory and warning signs
