Woodbridge Pizzeria Gave Food Away To Customers Who Couldn't Pay
"It's the right thing to do. We're here to help each other," said the manager of Brooklyn Pizza in Fords.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Woodbridge pizzeria is being recognized as giving away free food to customers who could not pay during the past ten months of the pandemic, starting in March.
It was a Patch reader who originally nominated Brooklyn Pizza in Fords for their kindness.
"It's the right thing to do. We're here to help each other. We have to take care of each other," was all Brooklyn Pizza manager James Bruno would say.

Bruno declined to say how many customers were given food for free.
"During the start of COVID, Brooklyn Pizza would have customers call and explain they were short on money, but would like to order food for their family," said customer James. "Countless times the owner would send the family their food and tell them, 'Don't worry about it; we're a neighbor, we help each other out.' In addition, they sent free dinners to our brave healthcare workers."

The customer continued:
"I'm sure they were down on sales as was everyone else, but to have a local business actually care about their customers is a rare instinct."
Brooklyn Pizza is located at 877 King Georges Rd, Fords, NJ 08863.
