Woodbridge Summer Camp Guide 2021

WOODBRIDGE, NJ —The state of New Jersey issued this updated guidance on how camps can safely operate this summer, and nearly all the summer camps in the Woodbridge area are back on for summer 2021.

Here's the list of what's planned:

Woodbridge Township camps: Woodbridge is planning all of their regular summer camps at KidSports at The Club at Woodbridge, The Woodbridge Community Center and the Merrill Park Day Camp along with plenty of other arts and athletic specialty camps. St. Joe's STEM summer camp in Metuchen: This is a brand-new camp just opening for summer 2021! (They were supposed to open last summer, but got delayed by COVID.) Held on the campus of St. Joe's boys' Catholic prep school in Metuchen, campers in this STEM camp will learn how to make and demo their own rockets, build and race remote-controlled race cars and make their own robots, just to name a few of the activities this summer. St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church: The Catholic church in Port Reading offers a very popular and nice summer camp program. Just to highlight a few things they will be doing each day: Indoor miniature golf, xBox, bowling and other activities (no video games), indoor and outdoor volleyball, soccer, basketball, badminton and much more. They will have water games and activities everyday so please send your child with a change of clothes or have them wear a bathing suit; one-piece bathing suits for the young ladies, please. There will be a different type of dunk tank (see below) that the children can dunk the staff or participate in if they want to. Breakfast, lunch and snacks included. Inman Sports Club: This massive indoor recreation facility in Edison now offers summer camps. Open to kids ages 6-16 and hours are 8:30 - 4 p.m. Activities include Miniature Golf, Driving Range, Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, Swimming, Rollerblading, Ping-Pong, Arts and Crafts, Movies, Games and much, much more. YMCA Day camp in South Amboy: Camp SAY at the South Amboy YMCA. Open to grades K-8, Camp SAY has a full aquatics center, gymnasium, kitchen, outdoor fields, and multi-purpose rooms, allowing an energetic schedule throughout the facility and beyond! Activities include crafts, science, technology, math, movement arts and outdoor play. Weekly virtual experiences are included. Campers have the opportunity to swim with their group 3 days a week. YMCA Day Camp In Old Bridge: They have a summer day camp in Old Bridge, with Red Cross certified swim instructors and lifeguards. The Old Bridge camp is June 28 – August 20 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and it is five full days: $308, four full days (Mon-Thu only): $266. Head Over Heels Gymnastics, Dance and Cheer Center of Parlin: They offer a summer fun and fitness day program, running July 13 - Aug. 28. Geared towards children 5 and older, the camp offers "seven hours of jam packed excitement - gymnastics, crafts, field trips, in-house events, and special elective classes such as dance, cheer, and karate."
