Woodbridge Toy Exchange, Earth Day Festival May 1 At Town Hall

Come for the free tree seedlings, tours of Blue Acres sites in Woodbridge, a children's toy exchange, Mother's Day photos and more. 9-1 p.m.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge will celebrate Earth/Arbor Day by giving away free tree seedlings, along with “green” items and products next Saturday, May 1 in the parking lot of Woodbridge Town Hall.

The celebration will also feature Woodbridge's annual Arbor Day tree-planting ceremony. This year, the event will also include a toy exchange, where Woodbridge children will have the opportunity to swap out their old toys for new ones.

The fun, community event will go from 9 a.m. .- 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Woodbridge Town Hall. You do not need to register to attend for the toy swap; simply show up.

There will be:

  • A toy exchange where children can bring their old toys and exchange for other kids' old toys
  • “Green” displays by environmental companies and local businesses
  • Raffling of three rain barrels
  • Free fitness classes taught by instructors from the Club at Woodbridge & Woodbridge Community Center at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and noon
  • Blue Acre tours (tours of waterfront land that has been preserved in Woodbridge Twp.)
  • Mother’s Day photos and much more.

The Earth/Arbor Day celebration will also include information on the importance of recycling, energy-saving information and seminars explaining to how properly set up and use a rain barrel.
