Work Starts May 23 On Port Reading Avenue Bridges
Starting Wednesday, May 23 at 7 a.m., there will be traffic shifts in place on Port Reading Avenue in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 23, work will begin on the two bridges on Port Reading Avenue. However, Port Reading Avenue will stay open during this period.
Beginning at 7 a.m., Wednesday, May 23 until 3:30 p.m., and continuing during the same time Thursday, May 24, and Friday, May 25, NJDOT’s contractor, Power Concrete Co., Inc., will shift traffic on Port Reading Avenue to the left and right of both bridges, between ProLogis Way and West Avenue.
They are shifting traffic to create a center work zone. Improvements include repair of the bridge deck, sidewalks and curbs. Both bridges will remain open during the project.

Work will pause for the Memorial Day holiday and resume on Tuesday, May 29. Work is expected to be completed in June of this year.
Work on the Port Reading Avenue bridges is part of a larger federally-funded $3.7 million maintenance contract to extend the life of 21 bridge structures throughout Middlesex County, the state DOT said. This is being done through preventative maintenance tasks including concrete repair, crack sealing and the application of corrosion inhibitors.
