5 Things: Church Rummage Sale
Clean up day, Faith Girlz, teen depression and recognizing a concussion in youth.
1. The Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church, is holding its annual rummage sale this Friday and Saturday. Donations of items will be accepted Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. No large electronics or furniture.
2. The Franklin Lakes Environmental Commission and the Franklin Lakes Recycling Program are sponsoring a Clean-up Day at the Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve (formerly North Haledon Reservoir) on Saturday, May 7 at 8:30 a.m. to noon.
3. "A Mother’s Story—Reflections on Losing Jimmy” by Ann Ganley and “A Youth’s Story—Depression, Recovery and Hope” by Jordan Burnham will be held Thursday, May 5 from 7 to 9 pm at the Wyckoff Family YMCA - Community Room. Limited seating: For reservations call Kathy Scarpelli at 201-891-1820.

4. A Concussion Forum will be held at Indian Hills on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Learn how to recognize and manage concussions and understand the new concussion laws. To RSVP, email bluegoldtc@yahoo.com. For more information go to www.ihhsbluegoldtouchdown.com
5. The Faithgirlz Beauty of Believing Tour is coming to Hawthorne Gospel Church Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 4:15 p.m. The event is designed to open dialogue between mothers and daughter regarding tween friendships, self-image, world, and faith. Tickets are free for moms and $12 for girls in advance at www.itickets.com or $16 at the door. The event sponsored by GEMS Girls’ Clubs, Zonderkidz, and Hawthorne Gospel Church.
