5 Things: Teen Depression Talks & More

A concussion forum, Faith Girlz event, the Valley Aux Kitchen tour and more.

1. "A Mother’s Story—Reflections on Losing Jimmy” by Ann Ganley and “A Youth’s Story—Depression, Recovery and Hope” by Jordan Burnham will be held Thursday, May 5 from  7 to 9 pm at the Wyckoff Family YMCA - Community Room.  Limited seating: For reservations call Kathy Scarpelli at 201-891-1820.

2. The 15th Biennial Valley Hospital Auxiliary Kitchen Tour will be held on Wednesday, May 18 from 10 am to 4 pm. See 10 beautiful kitchens in Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, and Saddle River. Proceeds benefit The Valley Hospital's Maternal-Fetal medicine unit and Valley Home Care's Maternal Child Health program. Tickets are $45 each. 3. The , is holding its annual rummage sale this Friday and Saturday. Donations of items will be accepted May 2 through 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.  No large electronics or furniture.

4. The Faithgirlz Beauty of Believing Tour is coming to Hawthorne Gospel Church Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 4:15 p.m. The event is designed to open dialogue between mothers and daughter regarding tween friendships, self-image, world, and faith. Tickets are free for moms and $12 for girls in advance at www.itickets.com or $16 at the door. The event sponsored by GEMS Girls’ Clubs, Zonderkidz, and Hawthorne Gospel Church.
