Accident Closes Both Sides Of Route 17

Detours are in place. Motorists should expect heavy delays in the area.

Both sides of Route 17 are closed between Allendale Avenue in Saddle River and Lake Street in Ramsey, state authorities said.

All lanes are closed and detours have been set up, 511nj.org, the state's emergency transportation notification system reported.

Ramsey Police could not be reached for comment.

Mahwah Police said there was a vehicle rollover with entrapment and wires are down on both sides of the highway.

There was a 10-minute delay in the area as of about 3:15 p.m., according to the website.
