Becton Dickinson Employees Shine the Light on The Longest Day
Employee Resource Group for Latinx employees – HOLA, hosting an Alzheimer's Association education program to raise funds and awareness

The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ), the leading volunteer-driven voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, advocacy and research is spotlighting people who are making a difference in the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. With more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, and more than 11 million family and friends providing care and support for them, individuals across the country are seeking ways to assist those afflicted with the disease. In New Jersey alone, there are more than 190,000 people living with the disease and 347,000 caregivers. On June 20, many of them will be participating in The Longest Day (TLD). The event is held annually on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, and is a day to raise awareness and funds to help end the disease.
Today we say thank you to Becton Dickinson’s Employee Resource Group for Latinx employees – HOLA. They will be hosting an Alzheimer’s Association education program for their employees – Healthy Living for Your Brain & Body - on June 21. The group, based at the Franklin Lakes headquarters will be spreading the word, sharing the program and fundraising across other campuses across the country as well.
"We are incredibly proud to have Becton Dickinson back as a partner for the 2021 season of The Longest Day. The HOLA Group has worked hard to raise awareness among their employees and ensure that they have the resources they need to battle Alzheimer's and dementia. Thank you to the BD Warriors for continuing to stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer's." said Danielle Buckler, Special Events Coordinator, AAGNJ.

Gabrielle Collantes, leader of team BD Warriors, explains, “I have a loved one living with dementia and research shows that Hispanics and Latinos are not receiving the health care they need to reduce their risk or manage their dementia. We are asking our fellow BD employees to join with HOLA in the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in The Longest Day. Together, we can make an impact.”
