Bergen County Approves 'Major' Wyckoff Roadway Project

Starting Monday, parts of Sicomac Avenue will undergo construction. The project is expected to take four months to complete.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Construction is slated to begin Monday on Sicomac Avenue as Bergen County approved a "major" project, according to the township.

Beginning Aug. 3, resurfacing and other improvements will be made along Sicomac Avenue from Birchwood Drive to Cedar Hill Avenue, the township announced.

The project will widen the road near the Christian Health Care Center and create a dedicated turn lane from Sicomac Avenue onto Cedar Hill Avenue.

Turn lanes will be integrated with a:

  • New traffic signal
  • Construction of sidewalks and curbs
  • Upgrades to storm water management systems
  • Utility poles carrying electric, cable and telephone wiring

The project is anticipated to continue for four months, with work performed Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wyckoff Police will be on hand to direct traffic as needed, and will establish road detours and close access to through traffic as needed.

This construction will not impact local businesses, nor access to garbage and recycling collection, mail delivery or emergency response.
