Bergen County Man Drowns Trying To Save Someone's Life In Rough Surf
Glen Carullo, 60, was pulled from rough surf at Point Pleasant, authorities said.

A Bergen County man died Sunday while trying to save someone's life at the Jersey Shore, his obituary states.
Glen A. Carullo, 60, of Waldwick, drowned in the ocean off Jenkinson's Beach in front of the police department substation.
The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a swimmer in distress at 2:12 p.m. First responders spotted the unconscious man, later identified Carullo, in the surf.

Police pulled Carullo from the surf and immediately began CPR; The Point Pleasant Beach First Aid and Emergency Squad and paramedics took him to Ocean Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:14 p.m., authorities said.

Carullo is survived by his wife Margaret; children Thomas, and his wife Christina, Kevin, and his wife, Candice and Alissa, and her husband Paul, and brother Jesse, and his wife Janet.
Carullo and his wife owned the Ho-Ho-Kus Florist and Gift Shop for 35 years, the obituary states.
Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus. A funeral mass is Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. Intermnet will follow at the church's cemetery.
