Bergen Felines Participating In Animal Planet's Kitty Halftime

OAKLAND, NJ – Put your paws together for these kittens!
On Sunday, you’ll be able to see a few local cats participating in the Kitty Halftime Show during Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl.
Eight kittens from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge (RBARI) are among the fabulous felines taking the stage, according to the Oakland-based shelter.

The local shelter will be represented by Faith, Hope, Barnum, Bailey, Checkers, Chess, Bo and Arrow, RBARI said.
Now in its 16th year, Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl advocates for animal adoption by giving pets the opportunity to find glory on the field, as well as their potential forever homes.

Each year, the television network partners with animal shelters to find cats and dogs for the event.
Puppies playing on the two teams (Team Ruff and Team Fluff) come from shelters across the United States and are all adoptable. Some of this year’s pups are special needs animals, according to Animal Planet.
Participants in the Kitty HalfTime Show are also looking for loving homes. The stars of this year’s show, Jenni-Purr Lopez and Cat-ira, are also up for adoption.
RBARI also has four dogs who are taking to the field for the 3rd annual Dog Bowl.

Dog Bowl III airs at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 on Animal Planet, followed by Puppy Bowl XVI at 3 p.m. on Feb. 2. You can also follow the action on Animal Planet’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
In past years, 100% of the puppies and kittens that have taken part in both the Puppy Bowl and Dog Bowl have been adopted to families, according to RBARI.
RBARI Executive Director Megan Brinster said Animal Planet's Super Bowl Weekend line-up is "two days of unmatched excitement for the dogs and cats at RBARI that you don't want to miss."
