Borough to Host Bear Lecture
July 12 event to inform residents about bear safety

Have concerns about bears in Franklin Lakes? On July 12, New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife expert Michele Smith will be coming to Franklin Lakes for an informative evening on bears.Â
The seminar is designed to educate residents about the growing bear population affecting New Jersey and Franklin Lakes. According to the NJDEP, the black bear population has been growing across the state over the last 20 years, and their have been confirmed bear sightings in all 21 counties.Â
The lecture plus Q & A session will take place at 7 p.m. July 12 in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall.Â
