Christmas Cupcake Menu Returns At Kara Kakes

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ – It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year now that Kara Kakes has launched its holiday menu.

The popular Franklin Lakes bakery is serving up seasonal cupcakes all month long to walk-in customers and to those who pre-order their treats.

The Christmas Menu includes: Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, Funfetti, Spiked Italian Sprinkle Cookie, Christmas Sangria, Drunken Santa, Sugar Cookie, Raspberry Linzer Tart, Hot Chocolate Lava Cake, Triple Chocolate S’mores, Candy Cane Oreo and Carrot. There are gluten-free flavors available also – Candy Cane, Vanilla and Chocolate.

Prices for the walk-in menu range from $3 to $4.50 per cupcake.

“Our flavor of the month, Spiked Italian Sprinkle Cookie, is a returning favorite from last year and is available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the month of December,” Shop owner Kara Schnaidt said. “Raspberry Linzer Tart has also been a favorite!”

There are also special holiday cupcake boxes available by pre-order only for Christmas Eve pick-up, she said.

• The $45 Christmas Cookie box features two of each of the following flavors: Italian Sprinkle Cookie, Gingerbread, Peppermint Cookie Dough, Raspberry Linzer Tart, Sugar Cookie and Snickerdoodle.
• The $45 Boozy Christmas box features three of each of the following flavors: Spiked Italian Sprinkle Cookie, Christmas Sangria, Cranberry Mimosa and Drunken Santa. All of these cupcakes are infused with liquor.

The deadline to place an order for Christmas Eve pick-up is Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. The bakery recommends pre-ordering since the holidays are its busiest season.

Kara Kakes will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 for walk-ins but will not take call-ahead orders that day, she said. And, on Christmas Eve, a special pre-fixed menu will be offered to celebrate the holiday.

Launched in 2013 , Kara Kakes has become known for its cupcakes, custom cakes and other yummy treats. It also offers baking and decorating classes for kids at the shop, which Schnaidt opened in early 2015.

Schnaidt, a 2012 Ramapo High School graduate, has won various awards over the years for her creations.
