Tornado Watch In Effect Until 8 p.m.
National Weather Service posts weather watch for Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Northeastern New Jersey, Southern Connecticut and New York through 8 p.m. tonight. Spotters are requested to report information to okx.spotters@noaa.gov.
The watch is in effect for Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Union and Hudson counties in New Jersey, and from Rockland County to Long Island, down to Staten Island for New York. Fairfield County Connecticut is also included in the weather watch.Â
Earlier today, the the National Weather Service's storm prediction center had the entire tri-state area is under "slight risk" for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday, due to a strong cold front expected to move through the region late in the day.Â

Here's a look at the weather forecast for Franklin Lakes through Sunday:Â
Wednesday:Â A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind between 7 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Wednesday Night:Â Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 57. West wind between 5 and 8 mph.Â
Thursday:Â Sunny, with a high near 72. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 11 and 20 mph.Â
Thursday Night:Â Clear, with a low around 47. Northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.Â
Friday:Â Sunny, with a high near 76. Northwest wind between 7 and 16 mph.Â
Friday Night:Â Mostly clear, with a low around 49.Â
Saturday:Â Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.Â
Saturday Night:Â Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.Â
Sunday:Â Partly sunny, with a high near 81.Â
