Concert Under The Stars Set for Aug. 3

Franklin Lakes is having its first annual Music Under the Stars event on Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 8 to 10 p.m. The event, features the Jersey Rollers Band will benefit the Franklin Lakes Memorial Pond commemorating the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.  The concert will take place on the Municipal Field behind Borough Hall right off of DeKorte Drive.

Bring a lawn chair/blanket, pack a cooler with snacks and drinks and come out and share the evening with the community.

The Franklin Lakes Memorial Pond has become a vital part of the Franklin Lakes Community. It has been built by many dedicated volunteers and all through donations.

The following individuals and businesses have generously donated to the Memorial Pond: 

• The NJDEP Supervisor Andy Clarke, Bureau Chief Richard Langbein, Project Manager Nabil Andrews, Reviewer Rebecca Grike.
• The Mosquito Commission
• Kevin Boswell and Frank Rossi from Boswell McClave Engineering. 
• Construction was done by Blue Meadows and Mike Jost Excavating. 
• The landscaping for Memorial Day weekend was donated by Nelson Lee from Landscape Works.
• The cement blocks were donated by Anthony Dellichiaie (aka Tony Dell) Owner and CEO of Tanis Cement in Fair Lawn.
• The blocks were transported by Teddy Bolkema of Bolkema Fuel Company in Mahwah.
• The electrical conduit excavation is being done by Mike Rioux of Mike Rioux Escavating in Franklin Lakes and the electric done by Mike Hickey of Hickey Electric.
• The stone for the water fall was donated by Scott and Sam Braen of Braen Industries in Haledon.
