Cooling Centers Open In Bergen County
County officials recommend residents stay indoors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cooling centers are open throughout Bergen County today and Thursday in response to a heat advisory that is in effect.
The heat index will range from 94 to 104 degrees.
Five regional cooling centers are open:

- County Administration Building, 1 Bergen County Plaza, first floor
- Northwest Bergen Senior Activity Center, 46-50 Center St., Midland Park
- Southwest Bergen Senior Activity Center, 147 Hackensack St., East Rutherford
- Bergenfield Senior Center, 293 Murray Hill Terrace, Bergenfield
- Bergen County Housing, Health, and Human Services Center, 120 South River St., Hackensack
Here is a look at the forecast for the rest of the week:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 101. Light west wind becoming southwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 73. Southwest wind around 7 mph.
Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. North wind around 6 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Friday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
