Golf Outing On Monday To Honor Dr. Welch
RBARI Golf Outing at High Mountain Golf Course set for May 9

Bergen County’s only non-profit, “no-kill” shelter is honoring the founder of Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital on May 9. Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge protects “the abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals…by finding them kind and loving homes,” giving animals “shelter, medical treatment, and, of course, love,” a mission Dr. Cheryl Welch devoted her life to.
Dr. Welch passed away Feb. 23 after a brief battle with cancer. A skilled veterinarian, a dedicated mother, with an adventurous side, employee bio reads: “When I am not at work I enjoy being a mom, skiing, snowboarding, learning to trapeze, horseback riding, yoga, sailing, spinning, and of course, traveling.”
While skydiving and parasailing might be more appropriate ways to honor this incredibly adventurous woman, a leisurely round of golf will have to do for now (extreme sports to follow).
