Heat Advisory, Air Quality Alert Issued For Bergen County

The heat index is forecast to top out at 96 degrees.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the county until 6 p.m. tonight.

An air quality alert is in effect until 10 p.m.

Partly sunny, with a high near 92. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Heat index values as high as 96.

Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 68.
