Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?

Right out of college with a degree in education, the founder started tutoring students right out of her basement and has since built her own successful tutoring business in efforts to make a larger impact on the community. Although successful, she always knew there was a faster and easier way to find a tutor at a moments notice. With technology on her side, she found a solution. She and her husband developed a mobile application that connects students and teachers right from their cell phones.

Class A Tutoring: We connect students and teachers.

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

Class A Tutoring: We receive hundreds of teacher applicants every day, however, finding the most qualified and professional teachers to represent our company has proven more difficult than originally anticipated. After being background checked, our team handpicks applicants to ensure all of our teachers are of the highest quality, in an effort to give our students the best experience possible.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

Class A Tutoring: The most satisfying part of creating this cutting-edge network for students and teachers is that we are helping to give the gift of education to as many people as we possibly can. This mobile app platform gives us the opportunity to make the largest impact in our community, and we are very excited to change the world of education.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?

Class A Tutoring: The way that we differentiate ourselves from our competitors is that we give our teachers the best compensation packages available in the industry. Most companies offer a performance based compensation model, where the company is receiving a percentage of the teacher's business. At Class A Tutoring, our teachers only pay a flat $25 connection fee regardless of how they price their services. This puts more money in the pockets of educators and finally gives them the sense of financial independence they always wanted.

Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Class A Tutoring: The best piece of advice we could give is to never give up. When we started to build this mobile app network, it was something that was totally new and needed a lot of attention. We wanted this to be a tool that educators all around the world would use to make connecting with students easy and seamless. Through trial and error, our team’s mantra was to never quit and always find a way to overcome our obstacles. Whether it was amending portions of coding or re-engineering the workflow of the application, we always prevailed in coming out on the other end as a stronger unit.
