High School Biology Assessments Next Week
Mandatory state testing for first year bio students Tuesday and Wednesday.

The following message is from Beverly MacKay, Director of Curriculum & Articulation for the Ramapo-Indian Hills School District:
On May 17 and 18, all students at Ramapo and Indian Hills High Schools who are enrolled in a first-year Biology course are required by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) to take the Biology End-of-Course (EOC) State Assessment test.  Â
All high schools in New Jersey are required to have a 95-percent student participation rate for students enrolled in these courses. Therefore, the make-up dates for the Biology assessments will be on May 19 and 20.Â

The participation rate is part of a high school’s determination of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under the NCLB (No Child Left Behind) federal law. Therefore, it is most important that our students provide their best effort on this assessment.
Students enrolled in Biology (all levels) - UP Biology-Chemistry Systems H and UP SAT Biology H are required to take the test on May 17 and 18:

Those students who are not involved in the testing will have a delayed arrival to school for each of the test administration days (May 17 and 18).Â
All students involved in testing should be in school at the regular starting time each day of testing and report directly to their assigned rooms for the test administrations.
A second run of bus routes will take place on each day of testing for delayed arrival students who are normally bused to school. Those students should be at their bus stops at the following times:
May 17 – 3 hours after regular stop time
May 18 – 2 hours 50 min after regular stop time
Â
Room assignments for testing will be posted prior to May 17 at both high schools.
