How Did Wyckoff Vote For Marijuana Legalization?

New Jersey legalized marijuana during the General Election, but how did Wyckoff vote?

WYCKOFF, NJ — New Jersey voters showed up in a big way for marijuana legalization during the General Election.

The Associated Press made the call on Tuesday, announcing the state passed Ballot Question 1, voting to legalize adult-use cannabis by a huge margin.

With 4531 of 6348 precincts reporting as of 1:30 p.m. Friday, nearly 2 million New Jersey residents cast their ballots in favor of the measure.

But what about in Wyckoff?

According to unofficial election results from Bergen County, more residents voted for the measure than against.

Here are the latest numbers:

  • Yes — 4,486
  • No — 2,683

According to the county, a total of 11,073 ballots were cast in Wyckoff, with Election Day precincts yet to be reported.

Bergen County reports a total of 431,951 ballots cast, but, according to the unofficial results, only absentee and early precincts have been reported so far, with 73 of 73 in. The county has yet to make an estimate on overall voter turnout.

County Clerk John S. Hogan didn't provide much of an update on Twitter Wednesday morning, stating that results would continue to be posted online. The Clerk's Office did not return a request for comment Wednesday.

"Unofficial results of the 2020 General Election will be posted on the Clerk's website at http://bergencountyclerk.org as we receive the results from the Board of Elections," he wrote.
