Local Constituents Protest Republican Actions Over Debt Ceiling Compromise

Local Constituents from Bergen and Passaic county held a protest at NJ Rep. Scott Garrett's Glen Rock office in response to the Republican's response to the debt ceiling negotiations. 

The overall message in the MoveOn.org organized rally was that the Republicans have not attempted to compromise with the debt ceiling bills. Constituents said they are looking for a balanced compromise to be reached and that the focus should be to help average middle class Americans instead of corporations and multimillionaires/billionaires.

Counter-protesting Tea Party supporters were also present emphasizing the importance of spending cuts while not increasing taxes.

Rep. Scott Garrett was not present to speak with constituents, nor Patch, but protesters in groups of two were allowed into the office to express their opinions with some of Garrett's aides.
