New Jersey teenager Andrew Low's family was hit hard by cancer and he is using his passion for ice hockey to make a difference, according to CBS2.

“I unfortunately lost both my grandparents to cancer within six months, and on Christmas morning, I also lost my dog under the Christmas tree to cancer as well,” he said, the report said.

Last year, he started the group “Kids Ice Cancer” to raise money for children fighting cancer. He recruited 40 fellow players who are all raising money to benefit the Valerie Fund, a nonprofit that helps children with cancer and blood disorders.
