Over 40K Still Without Power In Bergen County
Some customers could be without power until early next week, though providers say they're making steady progress.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — As the weekend approaches, over 40,000 people in Bergen County are still without power.
Orange & Rockland reports 11,419 customers affected at 3:30 p.m. Friday, and PSE&G reports an additional 32,211 impacted as of 3:15 Friday.
PSE&G, a power provider for over 2.3 million New Jersey customers, said on Friday that 90 percent of those who dealt with outages and interruptions will have their power restored as of 9:45 a.m., exceeding their own personal estimate of 85 percent by Friday.

The remaining 10 percent represent upwards of 50,000 customers who could be waiting as long as Monday to have their power restored, Chief Operating Officer Kim Hanemann said on a Friday call with reporters.

Orange & Rockland estimate that power will be back for residents on Tuesday around 11 p.m.

- Fair Lawn — 755
- Glen Rock — 592
- Hillsdale — 379
- Mahwah — 1,749
- Paramus — 1,207
- Ridgewood — 2,145
- Saddle Brook — 266
- Teaneck — 2,921
- Westwood — 1,058
- Wyckoff — 2,195
On Friday, PSE&G announced extended hours for the Customer Comfort Station in Paramus.

In Wayne Township, where thousands remain without power Friday, one family decided to make a joke at the expense of their electric providers.

In Teaneck, the charging station at the Richard Rodda Center will be open this weekend. The police station and Department of Public Works building continue to operate off generator power Friday.
